Guide
Dolphins near Sotogrande
The Bay of Gibraltar and the Strait are among the best places in Europe to see wild dolphins, and they are a short cruise from Sotogrande.
Which dolphins can we see?
Common, striped and bottlenose dolphins live in the Bay of Gibraltar and the Strait all year round. Sightings of wild animals are never guaranteed, but they are frequent.
How long does a dolphin trip take?
Allow at least 2 to 4 hours, so there is time to reach the bay and spend time with the dolphins. A half day also gives you time for a swim stop on the way back.
Respecting the dolphins
Skippers keep a safe distance, slow down near the animals and never chase or feed them.

Are dolphins guaranteed?
No. Dolphins are wild animals, so sightings can’t be guaranteed, though they are common in the Bay of Gibraltar.
When is the best time to see dolphins?
Dolphins are seen all year. The sea is usually calmest in the morning, which makes them easier to spot.
Where do the boats leave from?
Every charter on this site leaves from Puerto Sotogrande, the marina in Sotogrande (San Roque, Cádiz), between Gibraltar and Marbella. We send you the exact pontoon and the skipper’s phone number when your booking is confirmed.
